Brandi Elam was born in Milwaukee and grew up on the city’s northwest side. She attended high school in Green Bayafter her parents decided to move the family because a student brought a gun to Bradley Tech, where her siblings were in school. Elam moved back to Milwaukee for college and has found a place to call home.
