The culture of coffee can be seen everywhere – from the aisles of your local grocery store, to the wide variety of options on the menus at big box chains and small local shops. Wisconsinite Ryan Castelaz is on a quest to raise the bar even further for the drink he’s so passionate about. He’s the founder of Discourse Coffee in Milwaukee and the author of the new book, “The New Art of Coffee – From Morning Cup to Caffeine Cocktail.”

He recently talked with Doug Gordon, the host of Wisconsin Public Radio’s “BETA,” about how it all started for him, and where he’d like to see it go from here.

BONUS:  To hear the full conversation with Ryan Castelaz, head to WPR’s “BETA.” There, you can hear him talk about his love of telling stories with his drinks, some of his most creative recipes, and the evolution of American coffee culture over time.
