Angela Fitzgerald heads up north to Phillips where she explores Wisconsin Concrete Park. The roadside museum celebrates the artistic creations of Fred Smith, a retired lumberjack who created handmade sculptures using cement.

Then, we meet the Dix family, whose life in Wisconsin Rapids revolves around water skiing. Dan and Amber Dix met on the Aqua Skiers Show Team. Their three children, Faith, Alexis and Colby Dix, started skiing as toddlers. In 2023, oldest daughter Faith Dix took the family tradition worldwide, competing in the 2023 barefoot water skiing world championship.

Originally from Kabul, fashion designer Sarwat Najib brings Afghan artistry to Stevens Point, Wisconsin. Her designs blend traditional embroidery with contemporary style. And her company, Shamla Atelier, is creating opportunities for women refugees to work from home. Through her designs, Najib inspires resilience and hope, showing how art can transform lives.

Next, experience Nick Engelbert’s Grandview. In 1937, Engelbert transformed his Iowa County farm into a folk art destination of concrete and glass sculptures, and beautiful gardens tended by his wife Katherine. Today, this historic site hosts summer art classes where rural youth from four counties discover their own creative spirit amid Engelbert’s whimsical legacy.

Finally, tee off with Mount Horeb High School golf coach Nolan Krentz, who in 2022 set an unofficial world record for most holes of golf played in a year: 18,018. Krentz can play as many as 72 holes a day, completing a round of nine holes in just 45 minutes.
