You’ll meet a collection of people who share their Wisconsin lives, including a photographer who uses a paraglider to find the right angle, a group that uses retired railroad motor cars to give tours of a swamp, a writer who describes her road trips to Door County, a retiree who carves whirligigs that take him back to his childhood in Slovenia and an artist who explores Native American concerns with neon lights.

Women’s Percussion Ensemble Performs Colorful Rhythms From West Africa

Mami Wata is a women’s percussion ensemble based in Madison, Wisconsin. Nine members strong, the group studies, practices, and performs the colorful rhythms from Guinea, West Africa.  Solafo, the rhythm featured in this story, was taught by Bolokada Conde.
